INTRODUCTION TO COMMUNITY TELEVISION
This is a FREE one-session class, held on the first Monday of every month from 7:00
p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Participants learn about the purpose and history of public access TV,
access services available at ECMC, the policies and procedures of ECMC, and how to
operate cameras for studio productions. The INTRO class is a prerequisite for all other
production classes and workshops, and productions at ECMC.
STUDIO BASIC CLASS
Prerequisite: Introduction Class

Class Description: Students learn basic studio production techniques including
pre-production planning, how to produce a show, how to run studio cameras, lighting,
audio, switching and titling.
STUDIO A
Prerequisite: Introduction Class and Studio Basic
Class Size: (4)

Duration of Sessions: Three hours each session

Class Description: Students will refine basic principles and apply them to
specific equipment used in Studio A.
STUDIO B
Prerequisite: Introduction Class and Studio Basic

Class Description: Students will refine basic principles and apply them to
specific equipment used in Studio B.
FIELD CAMERA
Prerequisite: Introduction Class and Portable/Edit Certified
Class Size: 4
Number of Sessions: Four Sessions Three
Duration of Sessions: Three hours each session
Fee: $75.00
Class Description: This class covers the fundamentals of portable video
production using Mini DV camcorders and Tapeless, Memory Card camcorders.
FINAL CUT PRO
Prerequisite: Introduction Class
Class Size: 4
Number of Sessions: Three Sessions
Duration of Sessions: Three Hours Each Session
Fee: $75.00
Class Description: Learn non-linear editing on Final Cut Pro HD. This Mac
based software is designed to edit digital footage.
ADVANCED EDITING
Prerequisite: Introduction Class and Final Cut Pro
Class Size: 4
Number of Sessions: Three Sessions
Duration of Sessions: Three Hours Each Session
Fee: $75.00
Class Description: Advanced Final Cut Pro users can learn to use more
advanced professional tools to further explore their creative side.
PORTABLE STUDIO
Prerequisite: Introduction Class and Studio Basic Class
Class Size: 4
Number of Sessions: 2
Duration of Sessions: Three Hours Each Session
Fee: $75.00
Class Description: Take this class and you can produce a three camera onlocation
production. This class teaches the concept of setting up multiple cameras and
audio to record performances “Live to Tape”.
SEMINARS/1 DAY TRAINING
Fee: $25.00
Special training events customized to meet the needs of individual members or
organizational members. Curriculum developed through consultation with ECMC
Staff.
SPECIAL PACKAGE OFFERS:

Studio Basic, Studio A and Studio B. Cost: $175.00
All Classes. Cost: $300.00
Proficiency testing for certification in each class is available for individuals with prior
video production experience. The fee is $100 per test. If candidate fails to pass
proficiency test, the payment can be applied to the course fee.
